It is FINALLY summertime here in the Mid Ohio Valley and all of us here at Malia & Co. are dreaming of our summer vacations! Everyone loves their tried and true vacation spots that have become tradition. They are fun, familiar, and nostalgic, but every once in a while we find ourselves wanting to explore new places and create new traditions and memories! If this sounds like you, keep reading! Our Malia fam have gathered our own personal fav summer spots and we hope to inspire you to check them out this vacay season.
Shay’s favorite vacation spot is Hawaii! “There is nothing better than waking up to go on a run and seeing crystal clear water and a beautiful sunrise. Getting to go with my friends was such a fun experience. It was also my favorite because I got to surf! When in Hawaii, you HAVE to treat yourself to an acai bowl every morning!”
Her favorite restaurant while she was there was Island Vintage Coffee. “I loved their brunch and macadamia coffee!”
Meredith’s go-to vacation spot is Topsail Beach, NC. “I love being able to relax on vacation and the beach is beautiful and quiet. We went on a girls trip there a couple of years ago and it holds a special place in my heart”
Her favorite restaurant there is a Mexican spot called “Shaka Tacos”.
Leah’s pick is Oak Island! “Nothing is better than getting to spend the weekend with my nieces and nephews at the beach!”
“My favorite local restaurant is ‘Fishy Fishy’ at Southport. It’s waterfront and the views are incredible. Their seafood is a 10/10.”
Andrea’s favorite vacation spot is Naples, FL. “I have family there so I love to visit. The beach is amazing and not too touristy. It’s like a paradise right in Florida!”
Her go-to restaurants there are the “Beach Box Cafe” and “Tacos and Tequila”!
Jonaya loves to vacation to Panama City beach in Florida. “My family has been going there for a while now. It is also where I just got engaged! It’ll be my forever favorite beach.”
Kallie’s favorite vacation spot is Charleston, SC. “Charleston is definitely one of my favorite places to visit. I loved exploring the historic sites and getting to see the beautiful old houses. I can’t wait to go back!”
“The food at ‘Lewis Barbecue’ is amazing and I always have to grab dessert at ‘Byrd’s Famous Cookies!”
Alayna’s “home away from home” is Topsail Island! “The locals are fantastic and look out for one another! While I rarely eat out because of the abundance of amazing fresh produce at the farmers market, when I do I make sure to hit up ‘Green Turtle’, a locally owned, ocean-front seafood restaurant where they serve the best crab dip ever!”
Brooklyn loves to vacation to Disney World! “I love going to Disney World! My favorite restaurant there is ‘Be Our Guest’ because of the immersive ambiance!”
Ali’s favorite vacay spot is St. Pete Beach, FL. “It’s been a family tradition since I was about 12 years old. It has the prettiest sand and the water is so clear and warm”
Her favorite restaurant there is “Crabby Bills”. “It has beautiful waterfront dining!”
Misty loves vacationing to Myrtle Beach because it is a nostalgic family vacation spot!
“My favorite restaurant would have to be either ’21 Main,’ ‘Blueberry Grill,’ or ‘Conch Cafe’!”
Apparently summertime and sandy beaches are synonymous for our Malia crew. Too bad the MOV isn’t beachside! Are any of these on your go-to vacation spot lists?
